West Ham set to announce signing of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Sebastien Haller for £36m – reports

West Ham are close to finalising a £36million deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, according to reports.

The Hammers have been linked with a number of forwards, with Manuel Pellegrini keen to find replacements for Lucas Perez, Andy Carroll and Marko Arnautovic, who have all left the club this summer.

Pellegrini is only believed to have declared an interest in the 25-year-old earlier this week but talks have progressed so quickly that a deal has already been struck.

L’Equipe state that their £36m move for the Frenchman has taken a step closer after they convinced him that joining the Premier League side would be a good career move for him.

It is believed the striker is on the verge of penning a four-year deal to keep him at the London Stadium until 2023.

As it stands, Javier Hernandez and Jordan Hugill are the only strikers left at the club – and Hammers chiefs are keen to secure a deal for the forward quickly so he can join up with the squad on their pre-season tour of Austria.

West Ham also been strongly linked with a move for Celta Vigo marksman Maxi Gomez but the Uruguay international now looks set to sign for Valencia.

It is said Gomez wanted to play Champions League football and was more keen on staying in Spain rather than moving to the Premier League.

Haller impressed in the German top-flight last campaign, scoring 15 times and providing nine assists in just 29 appearances in the Bundesliga.
