Warrant Out For Man Wanted In Homicides Of 2 Women: Park Forest PD

PARK FOREST, IL — A man is being sought in connection with a double homicide in Park Forest last week, police said Monday.

Park Forest Police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force have identified a man named Coleman Franklin as a suspect.

Franklin is wanted in the Dec. 26 shooting deaths of Lillian Brown, 51, and Sabrina McCain, 30. The women were found fatally shot at a home in the 300 block of Miami Street, and two unharmed children were also found in the home.

A warrant for Franklin for two counts of first degree murder has been issued.

Franklin is not in custody and currently being sought by law enforcement. Franklin, 50, is previously of Markham, police told Patch.

This was not a random crime and the victims and suspect were known to each other, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and assistance from residents of Park Forest and surrounding areas have been invaluable and continues to be crucial, police said Monday.

“The Park Forest Police Department and the Village of Park Forest extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lillian Brown and Sabrina McCain as we work to seek justice for them,” police said.
