Finn Balor, Dexter Lumis, or Timothy Thatcher will be the next wrestler added to the NXT North American Championship ladder match at TakeOver XXX.
WWE announced tonight that Balor, Lumis, and Thatcher will face off in a triple threat qualifying match on next Wednesday’s episode of NXT. The winner will join Bronson Reed as the first two wrestlers to be confirmed for the five-man ladder match to crown a new North American Champion at TakeOver XXX.
After hyping a huge announcement for the episode, tonight’s NXT opened with Keith Lee revealing that he’s vacated the North American Championship. Lee said he doesn’t want to limit the roster’s opportunities and wants to make sure everyone gets the same opportunities he did.
NXT general manager William Regal then announced that there would be a series of triple threat matches to decide the participants for a North American title ladder match at TakeOver XXX.
Lumis defeated Killian Dain on NXT tonight and Thatcher defeated Oney Lorcan. Video of a promo from Balor addressing next week’s triple threat match also aired on the show.
