BUENA, NJ — A man was stabbed and a firearm brandished during a fight earlier this month at a South Jersey bar, officials said. Police are seeking an unidentified person for questioning.
Officers responded to the incident — initially reported as a shooting — just after 12:30 a.m. Jan. 7 at L’s Central Jersey Station Bar & Restaurant in Buena Borough. Police determined that a person was stabbed during a physical altercation between multiple patrons inside the bar.
The stabbing victim retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and brandished it when he re-entered the bar, authorities said. He was later found at Inspira Medical Center Vineland with a stab wound to his torso, according to police.

The man — a 32-year-old Millville resident — was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (second-degree), unlawful possession of a weapon (second-degree) and certain persons not to possess a weapon (fourth-degree). After getting released from the hospital, he was placed in the Atlantic County Justice Complex with a detention hearing pending.
Police haven’t disclosed his name.

Investigators weren’t able to determine that a shooting occurred during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges against those involved in the altercation are pending, police said.
