Triple Talaq has always been a contentious issue and its the women who always face its wrath. Every other day we come across incidents of triple talaq where the husband calls off the marriage by saying talaq, talaq, talaq. Eventually, it is the woman who suffers after being left by her husband. A law was passed in Parliament last month that made “Triple Talaq” a punishable offense.
The bill that sought to end the practice of Muslim men instantly divorcing their wives by uttering “talaq” thrice was cleared by both houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, of Parliament despite a slew of protests.

1. Woman given triple talaq for giving birth to girl child in UP’s Ayodhya
Zafrin Anjum, a resident of Jana Bazar in Haider Ganj Tehsil in Ayodhya, was given instant triple talaq by her husband on August 18 after she gave birth to her second child, a girl. “Since the first month of our wedding my husband started torturing me for dowry. When I gave birth to a girl I was given triple talaq. I demand justice”, she said as quoted to as saying by news agency ANI.
