SAN RAMON, CA — Three San Ramon students are hosting a bake sale fundraiser for their nonprofit Scholar Bloom, which provides school supplies to underserved schools.
California High School junior Saathvika Tumma founded Scholar Bloom after volunteering at an underserved school, where she saw how important school supplies were to student success. She enlisted her friends, Dougherty Valley juniors Anuhya Chadalawada, and Mahathi Aripirala Venkata, to help collect essential items like notebooks, pencils, and backpacks. Since the start of the year, they were able to obtain and donate over 1,400 supplies to San Antonio Elementary School in San Jose.
Scholar Bloom is aiming to fundraise for 10,000 school supplies by the end of the school year, and they’re doing it through a bake sale. Through Nov. 16, you can pre-order two brownies for $6, four chocolate chip cookies for $6, or a combo pack of two brownies and four cookies for $10. See here for the purchase form, and here to donate directly to their GoFundMe page.
