EFL new-boys Salford City host Championship giants Leeds United tonight in the Carabao Cup first round.
Salford enjoyed a stunning start to their first ever season in the English Football League, beating Stevenage 2-0 at home in the opening day of the 2019/20 League Two campaign.
They were brought back down to earth on Saturday, being well beaten at Crawley and are now set to take on Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds.
The Whites are the favourites to secure automatic promotion this term as they strive to reclaim their Premier League status.
They won 3-1 at Bristol City in their opening league game before conceding a late equaliser against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.
The two sides are at opposite ends of the scale in terms of rank, financial power, history and prestige and it should all add up to a fascinating cup tie this evening.
