Speaking to our colleagues at But Football Club, OGC Nice President Jean Pierre Rivère set out his stall for the upcoming January transfer window.
“The winter transfer window is very different to that of the summer. If there is an opportunity, we will look at it. But we could very well stop here too… We are being classed as outsiders for the title but we are still a young team, with the desire to enjoy ourselves and to progress… Another deal like Balotelli? No. You will undoubtedly allude to the rumour that is linking Ezequiel Lavezzi with us. Inside the club, we have never discussed such a possibility. I do not know where that came from or why it persists. For us, there is no Lavezzi discussion. There will not be a smoking gun in January. We have a budget. We need to maintain it and not make random decisions either.”
