Liverpool kick-off the defence of their Champions League crown with their Group E opener at Napoli tonight.
The two European heavyweights met in the last year’s group stages with both claiming 1-0 home wins and they are now set to do battle again in the imposing San Paolo Stadium in Naples.
RB Salzburg and Gent make up the rest of Group E and the Reds will know a win in Italy will stand them in good stead to top their table.
Napoli vs Liverpool: Date and kick-off time
The opening game in Group E will be held on Tuesday, September 17 and will kick-off at 8pm UK time.
When the Reds were here last season, they returned home empty-handed after Lorenzo Insigne’s last-minute winner.
Both sides go into the clash having won at the weekend with Liverpool beating Newcastle 3-1 and Napoli seeing off Sampdoria 2-0.
