Marks & Spencer’s 70,000 permanent store staff are on course to share a £60m bonus pot after a better-than-expected performance at the high street retailer.
M&S will say this week that its staff have already accrued a £30m pool over the first half of its financial year after the chain beat internal performance targets. If M&S’s profits over the year to next March hit the £575m to £600m range – as analysts expect them to – then the bonus will rise to between £50m and £60m. This will give each member of staff a payout of around £850.
