Romelu Lukaku is set to fly out with Manchester United for their pre-season tour as Inter are reportedly unwilling to meet his £75million price tag.
The Red Devils are looking to offload the Belgian marksman this summer, with Marcus Rashford set to be the main striker at Old Trafford for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
And Serie A giants Inter are keen on striking a deal for Lukaku, with San Siro manager Antonio Conte a big admirer of the 26-year-old.
But according to The Sun, the club are struggling to raise the funds to meet United’s valuation and are ‘not close’ to being able to stump up the cash for the striker.
Lukaku will therefore join the rest of the squad for their pre-season tour, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will fly out to Australia next week to take on Perth Glory and Leeds before coming up against Inter in Singapore on 20 July.
On Wednesday, Lukaku’s agent urged the Italian club to get serious in their bid to sign the player.
Federico Pastorello said: “We will see the decisions they will take. The times? We do not decide them: it is clear that if they want to buy the player, they have to move.
“The figures? I don’t know, I never made the numbers. You need to ask the club. Inter is seriously trying, Lukaku is a declared goal. But it is still a difficult dream.”
The Belgium international will now have to spend at least the first two weeks of pre-season training with United.
