Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson says it will be the ‘right move’ for all parties if Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford this summer.
The mercurial playmaker has endured a topsy turvy spell back in Manchester since rejoining the club from Juventus three years ago for a then world record fee of £89m.
And the Frenchman is now ready to leave the Red Devils once again, with his agent Mino Raiola confirming his client’s stance in an exclusive statement released to talkSPORT on Tuesday morning.
Kleberson failed to live up to expectations during his two-year spell at the Premier League giants having been dogged by injury and inconsistent form.
And the Brazilian believes the World Cup winner must leave the club now too for a fresh challenge – having simply not adapted to the club’s style.
“It is the right move to sell Paul Pogba, he’s a great player and his talent is unbelievable,” he told Your-promotional-code.co.uk.
“But his style is a little bit different, and not particularly what Man United need. He could use this opportunity now to leave and get a fresh start, play in a different atmosphere, and embrace a new challenge.
“Sometimes it’s hard to come to Manchester United and adapt to play a particular style. It doesn’t mean he’s not a good player with great quality.
“There’s a lot of criticism around the players, sometimes it doesn’t always go well.
“You work hard, you want to perform for the team, but some things go wrong, and these can be out of your control.”
Andy Goldstein says he’d love Manchester United to swap Pogba for Neymar
Kleberson further stated his belief that the Frenchman has performed well for United, but not to the standard he is truly capable of producing – like at last year’s World Cup.
He added: “Paul Pogba had played a lot more games, more opportunities than me when I was at Man United. I had many injuries in the time when I was there.
“He’s played well since being there but not to the level we should expect from him. “When he plays for France, we see it, he was a massive part of them winning the World Cup. He’s the heartbeat of the France team.”
