Speaking to L’Équipe, Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas sought to respond to claims that Ligue 1 rivals Rennes were seeking to poach his Head of Scouting, Florian Maurice.
“I appreciate Florian Maurice so much, and he is so strongly part of the history of Lyon, I could not even imagine that he would feel able to join another French club… And even though I can’t imagine him leaving one day, if he must leave one day, I see him moving to Barcelona or Real Madrid. If I was in his position, I would stay part of Lyon’s history, because at one moment or another, we will be at the summit. Aside from that, everyone has the right to want to recruit the best and he is amongst them.”
