Toshihiro Nikai, secretary-general of the conservative ruling Liberal Democratic Party, expressed dissatisfaction Friday with what he sees as inaction by Tokyo and Washington over the recent projectiles launched by North Korea.
Both the Japanese and U.S. governments are taking a wait-and-see stance, at least on the surface, the politician said at a party meeting after Pyongyang launched two projectiles early Friday morning.
The situation cannot be overlooked because North Korea is apparently making steady advances in its missile technology, he said, adding that Pyongyang is believed to be testing at least three new types of ballistic missiles.
