Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG attacker Kylian Mbappé responded to a question about what football needs to do combat in-game racism.
“I agree with leaving the pitch if everyone does so, blacks and whites. If someone does not leave the pitch, that means that that person is showing acceptance for the unacceptable. The time for “ifs” and “buts” is over. We cannot wait for the problem to knock on our door to resolve it. We also need to ask if everything necessary is being done outside of the stadiums to resolve the problem of racism in the stadiums.”
