The IIMs and IITs are known for being modern and liberal campuses. However, there have been incidents challenging this notion and one such episode occurred recently in IIT Madras. To the surprise of people, a clerical staff shot video and took pictures of woman student hugging her friend on campus. Later he threatened her to complain about her “immoral” and “indecent” actions.

The irate student caused a furore and in the end, a complaint has been registered with the police. According to a Facebook post by some students from IIT Madras, a clerical staff in one of the engineering departments clicked photos of an undergraduate student without her consent.
