UAE is home to millions of Indians who work there, and are an integral part of the Indian and the global community there. A large number of Indians working in the UAE are the followers of Hinduism. Looking at the necessities of the Indian expats, the UAE authorities allowed them to build a Hindu temple there. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, home to over three million people of Indian origin.

Modi witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony which was live-streamed to the Dubai Opera House where the prime minister was interacting with the Indian community.
