Early headache for Munster as Simon Zebo forced off after 18 minutes in Pro12 opener

MUNSTER’S NEW DIRECTOR of Rugby Rassie Erasmus only had to wait until the midway point of the first-half of his opening game in charge to suffer his first injury setback of the new season, as full-back Simon Zebo hobbled off in Wales.

The Irish province are taking on the Scarlets in their first game of the new Pro12 season, and the news will also be a concern for Irish coach Joe Schmidt with the Autumn internationals just a couple of months away.

Zebo, who appeared to suffer the knock as he attempted a try-saving tackle, will be hoping the injury doesn’t keep him on the sidelines for too long, after the Cork man suffered a couple of injury-plagued seasons.

The 26-year-old was replaced by Ian Keatley.
