Deering Mom Accused Of Attempting To Bite, Scatch Concord Hospital Security

CONCORD, NH — A mother from Deering is facing charges after an incident in late April on Thompson Street that later spilled over to Concord Hospital.

Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Thompson Street for a report of an intoxicated person, later identified as Brittany L. Taylor, 33, of Union Street in Deering, who was taken to the hospital, according to an affidavit.

One officer, the report stated, remained with a child who was also at the scene.

At the hospital, Taylor was accused of “becoming uncooperative,” which required her to be restrained while more units were requested. An officer suffered a laceration to the forearm during the hospital incident, the reporting officer said.

Taylor, the report said, “was acting belligerent and was attempting to assault hospital staff.” The officer accused her of attempting to bite security officers “on several occasions” as well as trying to scratch them. Taylor also dropped several f-bombs while stating she “didn’t want to hurt” anyone, spoke with “extremely slurred speech,” and made “uncontrollable movements with her body,” the affidavit said.

The report stated hospital staff told the reporting officer Taylor blew a 0.193 breathalyzer test.

A sergeant later told the reporting officer Taylor was the only one with the child “while she was heavily intoxicated by alcohol,” and the child was roaming the common area of the apartment building unattended before being found, according to the police investigation.

A witness was interviewed about the incident and told police they could not wake Taylor up, at first, the report said. The witness thought she may have passed away, but later, Taylor opened her eyes and was staggering around, the affidavit stated. At one point, the witness accused her of lifting the child up and then falling, but the witness was able to catch the child before they hit the floor and were injured, the officer wrote.

After being discharged from the hospital, Taylor was arrested on simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

After being arrested, Taylor became very emotional inside the police cruiser and called the officer a “loser,” the affidavit stated. She was accused of attempting to push her foot against the cruiser door and struggling with the officer, which led to her being charged with resisting, the officer wrote. Taylor was taken to the county jail and was accused of yelling and crying and requesting the officer to “please kill me,” the report stated. She was scheduled to be arraigned on April 29.
