SAN LEANDRO, CA — City Officials would like to remind residents and visitors to stay safe as the next atmospheric river storm is poised to move into the area.
Since March 1, San Leandro has recorded more than 2.5 inches of rain and with up to another 1.25 inches expected, the city is warning that flooding is likely to occur in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
“Storm drains have limited capacity, and flooding may occur in low-lying areas and/or at high tide during an initial downpour based on the storm’s severity, the city said in a rain update published on its website, adding that Public Works crews may take several hours to respond to reports of flooding, clogged storm drains, or downed tree limbs.
