Christophe Pelissier set to be appointed at Auxerre imminently

L’Équipe are reporting that Auxerre will appoint former Lorient manager Christophe Pelissier as their new head coach today, despite the club failing to reach an agreement over the sacking of former coach Jean-Marc Furlan.

According to L’Équipe, Pelissier will manage his first training session with the side before signing his contract this afternoon. He will bring with him three assistant managers, whilst Michel Padovani, Emmanuel Pascal, Attila Farkas and Robert Duverne, all members of Furlan’s team will have discussions about internal redeployment.

Despite Pelissier’s imminent arrival, the club are yet to terminate their relationship with previous manager Furlan. Whilst the club were on a poor run of form, his sacking came in the wake of a middle finger gesture toward Clermont fans. In front of the LFP jury committee on Tuesday, no agreement between the two parties was reached. The club will therefore enter into a procedure for dismissal for serious misconduct. Furlan, meanwhile, will likely take his sacking to a tribunal.
