The Premier League returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend as Frank Lampard’s Chelsea host a Burnley side without a win since December 21.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets have lost their last three games including a poor performance against relegation candidates Aston Villa in their most recent outing.

Chelsea vs Burnley: Head-to-head

Chelsea have picked up all three points in four of the last three league meetings between the clubs, scoring 12 goals and conceding five.

While Burnley are without a win in this fixture since the opening day of the 2017/18 season where Dyche’s side walked away from Stamford Bridge with all three points after a 3-2 win.

Chelsea won this fixture 4-2 back in October with a hattrick from Christian Pulisic before Willian made it 4-0 with less than an hour played.

Burnley managed to grab a couple of consolation goals through Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil, but Lampard’s side were too much for the clarets on the day.

Chelsea vs Burnley: Team news

Lampard reported after Chelsea’s FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest that Pulisic had picked up an injury the day before the cup tie, while Alonso almost missed the game due to an ongoing muscle injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has returned to grass training as he continues his recovery from a long-term Achilles injury but this weekend’s game against Burnley comes too soon for the 23-year-old.
