Charlton and Bristol City charged by FA for failing to control players during Championship clash

Bristol City and Charlton Athletic have been charged by the Football Association for an unsavoury incident in their match at Ashton Gate on October 23.

Famara Diedhiou came off the bench and scored an equaliser for the hosts before he was shown a straight for kicking out at Jason Pearce, which sparked a fracas involving 15 players.

It is alleged the clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in or around the 86th minute of the fixture.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, City ran out 2-1 winners after a Josh Brownhill strike deep into stoppage time at Ashton Gate.

Both clubs have until Wednesday, October 30 to respond.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson is already facing a personal charge by the FA following their previous game against Luton.
