It was frantic night of action in the Carabao Cup, with Aston Villa, Watford and West Ham recording convincing victories in their second-round ties.
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds came back from 2-0 down against Stoke but were knocked out by the Potters in a shootout at Elland Road.
Meanwhile, Cardiff were dominated by Luton, with an own goal from Junior Hoilett and strikes from Alan Sheehan and Jake Jervis inflicting a miserable night on the hosts.
In what was undoubtedly the shock of the evening, Norwich were powerless to avoid defeat to Crawley following Bez Lubala’s first-half opener.
Rivals Nottingham Forest and Derby County clashed in the East Midlands derby, but it was not much of a contest as Forest beat the Rams 3-0.
And elsewhere, Southampton edged past Fulham in a narrow encounter to secure their place in the third-round.
