Albian Ajeti: West Ham sign Switzerland forward in £8million deal from Basel

West Ham have made Albian Ajeti their sixth summer signing in an £8million deal from Basel.

Ajeti, the Switzerland forward, joins the Hammers on a four-year contract with the option to extend for a further two years after scoring 15 goals in 35 appearances for Basel last season.

Adrian Durham thinks that West Ham could push into the top four next season in the Premier League

He follows Pablo Fornals, David Martin, Roberto, Sebastien Haller and Goncalo Cardoso to the London Stadium to become West Ham’s sixth addition of the summer transfer window.

Ajeti, 22, who will wear the No27 shirt, said: “I’m very excited to be here. It is a pleasure for me to be here, at this big club.

“Once I felt West Ham’s interest, I didn’t have to think twice abut signing for such a big, traditional club in the Premier League.

“This is a big day for me and my family.”

Though West Ham did not confirm the fee they have paid for Ajeti, he is understood to have cost £8m.
