L’Équipe reported earlier tonight that French midfielder Adrien Rabiot missed out on PSG’s 2-2 draw with Bordeaux for “family reasons”.
The 23-year-old did not partake in the final training session before this evening’s game and did not even travel with the squad to south-west France.
This, in the midst of increasing speculation that the player has entirely fallen out with Thomas Tuchel, the German’s decision not to start Rabiot against Liverpool in mid-week apparently the final nail in the coffin for the Frenchman’s clan. With just over 6 months remaining on his current deal, the midfielder will be free to sign a pre-contract with any European club of his choosing as soon as we enter 2019.
PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique wants to sell the player for between €10m and €15m in the January window, according to Paris United. However, the same outlet understands that PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi will make one final effort to convince Rabiot to sign a new deal in the coming days, before finally giving up on keeping the Frenchman.
