Aston Villa 2-1 Derby: Jack Grealish still partying a day after Dean Smith’s side seal Premier League return

Jack Grealish is showing no signs of slowing down Aston Villa’s promotion celebrations.

Villa ended their three-year exile from the Premier League by beating Derby 2-1 in the Championship play-off final on Monday.

Boyhood Villa fan Grealish, who almost joined Tottenham last summer, is set to captain his side in England’s top-flight next season.

And after almost 24 hours of securing their place in the Premier League, the 23-year-old is still partying with his team-mates.

On Tuesday afternoon, Grealish uploaded a video to his Instagram story of him and right-back Alan Hutton knocking back a shot.

Speaking after their win over Derby, Grealish told talkSPORT: “I thought I was gone as well! That’s why I was waving goodbye to the fans, but I think everything happens for a reason.

“Especially after this season; I ended up staying, scored twice against the Blues [Birmingham], dreams come true!

“Honestly, I am absolutely speechless. It is just a dream come true for me.

“I started the season not even thinking I was going to be a Villa player and ten months on I am here now.

“I’m the captain and we are back in the Premier League.”

Grealish ended speculation of a move to Tottenham by signing a new five-year contract at Villa Park last September.
