India’s obsession with having a male child has not been hidden from the world. And perhaps taking advantage of this situation, an activist from Maharashtra has claimed that eating mangoes from his farm guarantees a son.
The Nashik Municipal Corporation has asked right wing activist Sambhaji Bhide to name the childless couples, who he claimed, were blessed with children after eating mangoes from his farm. The civic body sent a show cause notice to Mr Bhide, asking him to prove his claim that the fruit from his orchards helped couples bear male children.
