Nine of the last 21 players to be handed their England debuts came through Chelsea’s academy.

Fikayo Tomori was the latest man from the London club to feature for England.

The 21-year-old was brought on by Gareth Southgate in the 4-0 win over Kosovo on Sunday night in the final Euro 2020 qualifying match.

Tomori was born in Canada and played for their under-20s before switching allegiances to England. He was also eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents.

The defender has been a breakout star under Frank Lampard this season as the Chelsea youngsters have shined at Stamford Bridge.

Assistant manager Jody Morris tweeted about the achievement of the academy in producing so many England players.
