French international and PSG central midfielder Blaise Matuidi is edging closer to a summer exit from the Ligue 1 champions, according to Le Parisien.
Matuidi, whose current deal expires in 2018, was offered a new contract in autumn which was seen as very disappointing by the player, who was expecting more from a club that practically begged him to turn down a summer move from Juventus last year. The offer on the table was an extension until 2020, with his salary almost being halved.
Matuidi took this offer as an insult and a sign that PSG no longer count on him. He has asked for PSG to make a revised proposal, but he has yet to receive one, and the French newspaper seems to believe that Matuidi’s heart is no longer in this fight.
Mino Raiola has been busy sounding clubs out concerning his client’s situation, in both Spain and England.
Manchester United were heavily linked to Matuidi as a back-up option to Paul Pogba last summer, even though they are different players, and Les Parisiens would seemingly allow Matuidi to go for €15m this summer.
José Mourinho wants a squad overhaul at the Red Devils, might Matuidi be part of that?
