French police raided the PSG headquarters as well as the homes of players Angel di Maria and Javier Pastore at 06:00 French time this morning as part of a tax probe instigated following revelations of tax evasion unveiled by Mediapart, an outlet that makes up part of the Football Leaks investigation.
The reason why the French authorities are taking an interest in the reported tax havens that Di Maria and Pastore are participating in and putting their income towards is that regardless of ones nationality, a tax resident is liable to tax in France if he carries out business there, if he receives income there or if he spends at least half of the year in the territory.
The investigation continues.
