New Cannabis Dispensary In Hoboken Gives Opening Date

HOBOKEN, NJ — After undergoing the twists and turns of obtaining a permit to sell cannabis in Hoboken, a third dispensary is set to open in the mile-square city next month.

The Village, located on the city’s main street, Washington Street, posted signage this week saying they’ll open on Saturday, Sept. 21.

They’re located at 516 Washington St., just a block south of a “microdispensary” that has already opened, Blue Violets.

The Village received local approval to open in 2023 and is part of Village Brands, founded by NBA players Dan Pettigrew and Al Harrington.

Marijuana was approved for medical use in New Jersey in 2010, and for recreational use in 2021. But permitting, zoning, and other rules slowed the opening of many of the businesses until 2023 and this year. READ MORE: Where’s The Weed?
