The victim was struck by a second vehicle, a Toyota Sienna driven by a 38-year-old Joliet woman, and she was going southbound on North Larkin Avenue. Following the crash, the female driver remained at the scene and called 911.

The pedestrian was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department where he died.
Later, Thursday night, Joliet police tracked down the Chevrolet Malibu to the 400 block of Bridge Street and located its driver, a 37-year-old Joliet resident. The driver went to Joliet Police Department for further questioning and was cooperative throughout the investigation, English said.
Identification of the victim and manner of death will be determined by the Will County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information or video footage related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Joliet Police Department Traffic Unit at (815) 724-3010.
