Speaking to Paris Saint-Germain’s Twitch channel following yesterday’s Champions League draw, manager Mauricio Pochettino reflected on the club’s Group A opponents – Manchester City, Club Brugge, and Leipzig.
The Argentine – whose words were transcribed in Ouest France – indicated that Pep Guardiola’s men, who knocked out PSG last year, would be the challenge in the group, but that Les Parisiens should be wary of the Belgian and Austrian teams.
“Meeting Manchester City again is special. They are one of the best teams in Europe and have been fighting to win the Champions League for the last ten years. But we have to respect the other teams as well – Brugge and Leipzig – it will be hard, very hard.”
“When you play that kind of competition, every team is very strong. The most important thing is to be ready when it starts. We’ll try to finish top of the group, that’s our challenge.”
