WWE star Braun Strowman undergoes neck fusion surgery

WWE star Braun Strowman is on the road to recovery after undergoing fusion surgery on his cervical spine.

Strowman revealed in an Instagram post on Friday that he underwent level one fusion surgery on his C4 and C5 vertebrae. The surgery was done at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

The 39-year-old Strowman (real name Adam Scherr) wrote that it was very scary to find out that he needed this surgery, but he thanked WWE for being there every step of the way and getting him the best care possible. Strowman assured fans that he'll be back in the ring when he's ready.

Road to recovery starts now!!!! Level one #fusion on my c4/c5 #vertebrae was in the great hands of #DrCordover at @andrews_sports_medicine was a great experience considering. Thank you to @wwe for always taking the up most care of us. This was very scary to find out about having to have done and they were there every step of the way reassuring that I was going to have the best care possible. This will take a little bit of time to heal from. But I assure you ( in the words of the #Terminator ) I’ll be back!!!! Thank you all in advance for the well wishes.

Much Love

Adam Scherr

Strowman's most recent match was when he teamed with Ricochet to defeat Chad Gable & Otis on the May 1 episode of Raw.

On the April 21 edition of SmackDown, Strowman suffered a concussion during a tag team match against The Viking Raiders. He was able to return to action the next week.
