Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong rejected two loan offers in the summer after a conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The United boss gave the midfielder his first-team debut in a 2-0 FA Cup win over Reading in January.
Chong, who made four senior appearances in total last season, had the chance to go on loan to former club Feyenoord and PSV for the 2019/20 campaign.
But explaining why he opted to stay at Old Trafford, Chong told Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur: “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says, ‘keep working hard, your chances will come’.
“That’s nice to hear. There are a few players away from Manchester United and I’m climbing the pecking order now.

“It’s always nice to come back to the Netherlands, but in the end I have to do what I find best for myself. That’s why I decided to stay.”
Chong left Feyenoord to join the Red Devils in 2016.
And the Netherlands Under-21 international has confirmed he is in talks with the club over a new contract.
He added: “Of course we are talking, but it is still too early to say anything about it.

“The season is still long and we will see what happens. There are a lot of competitions coming up and I will focus on that.”
Chong is yet to make a senior appearance for United this season, and was an unused substitute in their 1-1 draw with Southampton last weekend.
