Jose Mourinho has revealed he believes Manchester City’s ‘B Team’ could challenge for the Premier League title, while admitting his former clubs and Arsenal will struggle to this season.
Liverpool and Man City have already set their stalls out in the race for top spot in 2019/20 with thumping wins over Norwich City and West Ham United respectively.

City boss Guardiola stunned football fans with the exceptional quality of his squad by naming a bench including Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo, and Phil Foden against the Hammers.
And having seen the strength of his former rival’s roster, Mourinho insisted the second XI the Spaniard could name is more capable of mounting a title charge than Arsenal and former clubs Manchester United and Chelsea.
Asked how many teams had a chance of winning the Premier League, he told Sky Sports Super Sunday: “Four. Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City’s ‘B Team’.
“When I looked at the bench yesterday, there were some images of the bench and the players that were not involved, I think even the ‘B Team’ could fight for the title.
“Independent of what happens today, even if one of the teams play magnificently, I believe they are going to resist in the title race
“I don’t see also Arsenal to resist to a title race, but I think Tottenham has to join it.”
But the Portuguese added he wanted to see the rest of the ‘big six’ competing at the top of the table.
“I want to say the obvious thing, we would love United, Chelsea and Arsenal to be also at that level.
“It would be something incredible and sometimes in football unpredictable things can happen.
“Who knows? Some click can happen and make a huge difference.
“But I think we all agree we are speaking about a team that last season won everything in England, we are speaking about the European champions and we are speaking about European runner-up.
“Then we are speaking about United that finished sixth and is playing Europa League, Arsenal that finished fifth and is playing Europa league also and Chelsea with this ban.”
