Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says Fulham youngster Harvey Elliott has the potential to be a ‘superstar’ ahead of his expected move to Anfield.
Elliott, who will not turn professional until his 17th birthday next April, has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs after turning down a scholarship at the Championship side.
Elliot is the youngest player to ever feature in the Premier League, having come on as a substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers in May aged just 16 years and 30 days.
The England Under-17s midfielder has opted for a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League title chasers, and Murphy doesn’t believe it will be long before Elliott is making headlines in the top flight.
Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White on Monday, Murphy – who played for both Fulham and Liverpool – said: “They always have the option to send him out loan [this season] but I’ve got a feeling they really must think he is ahead of his time.
“It might not transpire this summer, but in the next couple of season I would imagine they’re hoping he develops to get some first-team action.”
He continued: “He’s a great dribbler, he’s very sharp and he’s got good feet.
“He could play in one of those front three roles, that’s probably where we’d see him get his go.

“We’ll probably see him in a cup competition this season. I think this kid could be a superstar and if he has got the talent to do it, he’s at the right place.”
