Gonzalo Higuain’s brother and agent has ruled out the possibility of the Argentine striker returning to Chelsea this summer – suggesting he will stay at Juventus for the duration of his contract.
The 31-year-old spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Stamford Bridge, notching five goals in 14 appearances.
And while Higuain failed to make a big impression during his six-month stint in west London, he’s still attracted interest from plenty of clubs following his return to Turin.
Roma have been heavily linked with a move for Higuain, but that speculation has been squashed by his brother, Nicolas, who says he will honour with contract at the Serie A champions.
“Gonzalo wants to respect his contract and therefore stay with Juventus for another two years,” he said.
“His performances at Juve have been good and playing for another team in Italy isn’t a workable solution.
“I don’t want to disrespect anyone, but if Gonzalo plays in Italy again then he only will for Juve, who own him.”
A return to his native homeland to finish his career with River Plate has also been mooted, but Nicolas believes his brother, who is set to be reunited with Maurizio Sarri at the Allianz Stadium, still has the capability to perform at the highest level.

“I think it’s still too early because Gonzalo is 31 and, once he has recharged his batteries, he’ll be good enough for Juventus,” he continued.
‘He has no second thoughts about quitting the national team.

“He felt he had to give way to younger players because staying in the national team for such a long time is a great responsibility and he preferred to withdraw himself.”
