3 Names Written In For Elmsford Village Justice

ELMSFORD, NY — The election for a village justice in Elmsford will likely be decided between three names that received write-in votes.

Village elections were held in Westchester County Tuesday, March 21.

In Elmsford, the only position to be decided was that of village justice. However, no one filed petitions to be on the ballot, so there were no names from which voters could choose.

That meant, according to Village Administrator Michael Mills, that the name of whomever a voter wanted as justice had to be written in, whether it was on an absentee ballot or at the polls the day of the election.

Mills told Patch that there ended up being three write-in candidates for the position.

“However, I do not yet have the results from the [county Board of Elections],” he said in an email.

The deadline for absentee ballots being received by the elections board was Tuesday.

Patch did not immediately receive a response from a request for more information from the Board of Elections Friday.
