It can be a lot more in real life.

At a Village Board meeting, Mayor Gary Grasso reported the state recently sent the village $2 million for “an old accounting error.”

“A bank error in your favor,” Walter said.

Grasso said the village would provide more information at the board’s Sept. 9 meeting. He said the village is trying to find out more about how the error happened and how to prevent such a situation in the future.

“Somewhere somebody made an error big enough that we got a check for $2 million,” Grasso said.

Added the village’s attorney, Mike Durkin, “That’s better than being on the opposite end.”
