Ivorian international and PSG right-back Serge Aurier is another step closer to a move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Aurier underwent a medical yesterday in Paris with Tottenham, as the London based club continues to wait for legal assurances that the former Toulouse man’s appeal against his 2-month prison sentence for assaulting a police officer is successful, according to L’Équipe.
A €25m deal including bonuses has been agreed between PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique and Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy. The player has also agreed a 5-year-contract with Spurs.
Chelsea were also interested in Aurier, but decided not to enter into negotiations until his legal situation was cleared up. Juventus, according to the newspaper, remain in the race and have also agreed provisional terms with Serge Aurier.
But a move to Juventus for Aurier comes with a caveat: that the player would be loaned out until January, giving the Old Lady time to free up a non-EU spot in their squad for the Ivorian.
Initially, Aurier rejected this proposal, but if the legal guarantees do not come through soon, Italy and Juventus might be the only viable route for PSG, who desperately need to sell.
