Malian international central midfielder Yacouba Sylla is set to seal a €750k move to Belgian side KV Mechelen from Rennes, after cutting his loan spell with Greek side Panathinaikos short because of the latter side’s inability to pay wages on time.
Sylla wanted to make a move to Poland with Legia Warsaw, but Rennes want to sell the player and Warsaw were only offering a loan deal.
The former Aston Villa man is due to undergo a medical with the Belgian side in the next 48 hours, according to multiple reliable Belgian sources.
