MONTVILLE, CT — Phantasia, an Asian restaurant at Mohegan Sun, has closed.
Mohegan Sun posted the following on its website: “Phantasia at Sunrise Square is now closed. Please visit our dining options to view over 35 restaurants and bars featuring cuisines and service styles for any occasion.”
Cody Chapman, Mohegan Sun PR director, said, “Phantasia at Mohegan Sun has closed, and we look forward to reopening an Asian food court experience to guests in the near future.”

He noted that “exciting dining additions” are on the way for the resort casino. Two new eateries, Beauty & Essex and The Shed, are listed as coming soon.
The Crafty Slice, “the newest late-night hotspot at Mohegan Sun,” is also now open and located at the Summer Entrance in Casino of the Earth. The to-go restaurant offers $5 slices along with salads, grinders, snacks, and more.

The Shed is scheduled to open this summer next to BALLO Italian Restaurant. This new restaurant will be in partnership with restauranter, John Tunney, as BALLO is as well.
The restaurant will be in an 8,100-square-foot space across from Frank Pepe’s in the Casino of the Earth. The Shed will feature a scratch kitchen and be open seven days a week for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
The Shed operates several New York locations and will feature dishes like Skillet Mac & Cheese topped with corn, jalapeños, bacon, and green onion, and Glazed Salmon paired with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and shallots, topped with a sweet mustard glaze.
Over the holiday season, a TAO Group high-end restaurant, Beauty & Essex, is slated to open.
This restaurant features an “innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boombox, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures and an eclectic array of ‘one -off’ pieces of jewelry,” according to the website for its New York location. Beauty & Essex also has a restaurant in Las Vegas.
Last year, Mohegan Sun’s food court closed. The four restaurants in the food court that closed were Mezze Mediterranean, Jasper White’s Summer Shack Express, Southside, and The Original SoupMan, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
The Uncasville casino currently lists 40 dining options with brand-name options like Chik-Fil-A, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Krispy Kreme, and Ben & Jerry’s.
