Luis Campos to overhaul PSG scouting and be the only negotiator in contract talks

As reported by L’Équipe, PSG’s incoming sporting director Luis Campos, who replaces the sacked Leonardo in the role, will be given broad scope to make changes to his department and influence the club as a whole.

Campos, whose scouting laid the groundwork for Lille and Monaco’s recent title wins, will install a team of new scouts which he trusts – Leonardo, however, tended to work alone – and the Portuguese director will regularly watch players in person. Campos is also asking to be the sole negotiator in contract talks with players, without interference from other members of the Paris hiercahy.

At Lille, Campos left transfer fee negotiations to the club president, however, meaning, assuming the same process is used at PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be in charge of such talks. The two men, however, got off to an edgy start upon first meeting in 2019, say the sports daily, as both pointedly asked the other: “Who are you?”
