MURRIETA, CA — A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle in unincorporated Murrieta Tuesday afternoon, and the victim was a child.

The collision was reported to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday in the 37300 block of Pourroy Road, according to the agency.

An airship was summoned to transport the seriously injured victim to a hospital.

Preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol indicated a 14-year-old French Valley girl on a bike was struck by a blue Dodge Ram truck. The driver stopped and was cooperating with the investigation.
