PSG make themselves available to courts over Al-Khelaïfi claims

According to L’Équipe while the name of its president Nasser al-Khelaïfi is at the centre of an “explosive” affair, revealed on Wednesday by Libération, PSG has made it known that it is not implicated by the current investigation. The Parisian club also said that it was at the disposal of the justice system.

Earlier in the day, the Qatari leader’s lawyers said that the newly released material was “unrelated” to their client. The case in question concerns a French-Algerian entrepreneur and lobbyist who allegedly held compromising information about Al-Khelaïfi, regarding the much-maligned awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s lawyers have responded to claims made by French newspaper Libération yesterday that implicated him in an alleged affair involving blackmail and secret deals to prevent Qatar’s state secrets from being leaked.

“In response to media reports in France about ongoing investigations against three individuals suspected of illegal activity, we categorically confirm that they are not related to Mr Nasser al-Khelaïfi.”
