Until now policemen were busy nabbing perpetrators of cow slaughter. The cow is considered a holy animal in India but who knew that stealing cow dung will soon overshadow all other kinds of theft.

In Birur town of Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka the police department is busy with the curious theft of cow dung worth Rs 1.25 lakh. Times of India reported that the complaint was lodged by the Department of Animal husbandry.

Cow dung is a natural fertiliser that helps produce a ripe crop for the farmers hence, it is extensively used in agricultural and horticulture activities. The case involved theft of almost 35 to 40 tractor loads of cow dung. A supervisor of animal husbandry department has been arrested in connection with this case.
