Premium denim meets Paris haute couture in the latest collaboration
collection from denim label Seven For All Mankind.
The US denim brand, which was acquired by VF Corporation in 2007, will
be working with Italian designer Giambattista Valli to create a
collaborative spring collection, which will offer high waisted jeans,
feminine tops and a bomber jacket. “It’s an opportunity to offer a
unique, fresh point of view to our customer,” said Barry Miguel,
president of Seven For All Mankind to WWD.
“Mr. Valli resonates with an international audience. He’s a leader
right now in his segment if you think about the new world of designer
and couture.” Seven For All Mankind has worked with a number of
designer in the past, but Miguel adds that the label does not employ a
fix time schedule when it comes to collaborations, only teaming up
with another creative “when there’s something or someone that seems
exciting and appropriate.”
The collaborative collection, which is set to retail between 350
dollars and 650 dollars, will be launched in two separate
installments. The first will hit all stand alone Seven For All Mankind
stores and selected wholesale retailers mid-February and the second
sometime in May. The debut half of the collection will be offered in
roughly 60 Seven For All Mankind stores around the world, and close to
76 selected department and wholesale stores. The second half the
launch will be be distribution among a wider selection of stores.
The first part of the capsule collection contains seven pairs of
high-waisted skinny jeans, available in seven shades of matte pink and
red denim, and have been named ‘Lipsticks.’ The jeans will be
accompanied by a minidress, shorts, jacket as well as a sleeveless and
flared top. The second part of the collection offers seven pairs of
high-waisted jeans, both skinny and flare in seven shades of blue,
ranging from neon hues to lightly bleached colors, adorned with white
lace denim. The launch will also include a pla suit, bomber jacket and
peplum top.
“Our customer wants to be involved in the world of fashion, and this
is something that will excite her,” added Miguel. Although the
collaboration collection is a one off launch, Miguel did not rule off
future collaborations with Valli. “We really enjoyed working with Mr.
Valli. He’s incredibly talented; he has a fresh vision.”
