Paul Pogba has reportedly tried to force his way out of Manchester United by failing to turn up for their pre-season trip to Cardiff.
According the the Mail, the Frenchman stunned his coaching staff and team-mates by skipping the flight to South Wales ahead of the friendly against AC Milan on Saturday.
Man United claim the wantaway midfielder has been suffering from a back injury this week, but he was reportedly included in the official travelling party.
Pogba’s future has been a constant source of speculation this summer after he expressed his desire for a ‘new challenge’.
The 26-year-old’s agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed his client’s wish to leave Old Trafford and Real Madrid are thought to be plotting a mega £150million bid for the France star.
While Pogba has faced criticism for his attitude, he was United’s top scorer in the Premier League last season with 13 goals from midfield.
Nonetheless, former Red Devils striker Teddy Sheringham believes United should replace Pogba with some who ‘wants’ to play for the club.
“I just don’t think it’s the right fit,” he told talkSPORT.
“I think he’s upset a lot of people with his demeanour and his attitude at Old Trafford.
“It would be best for everyone involved if he left. If Real Madrid want him, whatever they’re paying, let him go.
“Use the money to go and buy someone who really wants to be playing for Man United, showing how good he is and what their worth is.”
